Customer Service & Organizational Psychology InternAt — Sweet T's Candy
The intern will assist with customer service and day-to-day business operations while gaining practical experience applying psychological concepts in a workplace setting. Responsibilities include communicating with customers, assisting with customer concerns and conflict resolution, observing customer behavior and communication patterns, supporting customer satisfaction efforts, and helping improve customer-service procedures. The intern will work under direct supervision and will have opportunities to connect psychological concepts involving communication, motivation, interpersonal behavior, and organizational psychology to real-world business situations.
The student will provide customer service through email, phone, and in-person interactions. Duties will include responding to customer questions, resolving order and delivery concerns, assisting with refunds and replacements, communicating company policies, documenting customer issues, and escalating complex situations to the supervisor when appropriate. The student will also observe patterns in customer concerns, help identify ways to improve customer communication and satisfaction, and apply concepts related to interpersonal communication, motivation, behavior, and conflict resolution in a professional business setting.
The student will receive an initial orientation covering company policies, customer service procedures, communication standards, order management, refunds/replacements, and escalation of customer concerns. Training will include job shadowing, review of sample customer interactions, supervised practice responding to customers by email, phone, and in person, and regular feedback from the supervisor. The supervisor will meet with the student regularly to review performance, discuss challenging interactions, and provide guidance on professional communication, conflict resolution, and customer service strategies.
By the end of the internship, the student will be able to:
