Graphic Design InternAt — San Antonio Regional Hospital

DEPARTMENT: Marketing

POSITION SUMMARY: As a Graphic Design Intern at San Antonio Regional Hospital, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic marketing environment. You will work closely with our marketing professionals and contribute to the development of creative assets across various digital and print platforms. We are looking for an individual with a strong understanding of typography, gestalt principles, social media content creation, and proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Create visually appealing designs for a wide range of marketing materials, including brochures, posters, social media graphics, email campaigns, and advertisements.
• Apply advanced typography skills to ensure readability and visual hierarchy in all design projects.
• Implement gestalt principles to create designs that effectively convey the hospital’s message and brand identity.
• Analyze and research editorial content to design promotional materials in a creative manner.
• Develop engaging and shareable social media content, including graphics infographics, and short videos, to enhance the hospital’s online presence and engagement.
• Assist in special projects as assigned or needed
• Attend internal and external meetings as requested

ADDITIONAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Models the hospitals internal and external service standards of listen, be nice, be helpful, and show regard.
• Performs other duties that are consistent with meeting departmental and organizational goals and objectives.

INTERNSHIP OVERVIEW

• Time Commitment: minimum 10 hours/week 
• Internship Duration: January 2027 – May 2027 
• Onsite Requirements: Interns are required to be present at assigned project sites for the duration of their internship. 
• Other Requirements: 
  1. Must be enrolled in a practicum/field experience course at a University
  2. Have access to reliable to transportation
  3. Valid Driver’s License or ID
  4. Personal Computer/Device

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education:  BFA or BA students with a concentration in Graphic Design, Art Plan IV Graphic Design, Plan V Graphic Design, Design Studies, Marketing or other related fields.

Requirements:  Must be enrolled in a practicum/field experience course at a University.

Knowledge and Skills:  

• • Strong portfolio showcasing proficiency in graphic design, typography, and use of Adobe Creative Suite tools.
    • Proficiency in using Adobe Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign to create, edit, and optimize multimedia content
    • Knowledge of gestalt principles and design best practices
    • Advanced typography skills
    • Familiarity with social media platforms and content creation
    • Excellent attention to detail and time management skills
    • Ability to analyze and research editorial content
    • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
    • Must possess a high level of creativity, attention to detail, and the ability to set/meet deadlines with minimal supervision
    • Ability to work well in a collaborative team environment
