Academic InternAt — Wonderkind Pediatric Therapy

Academic intern looking to complete internship with pediatric population with services including physical, occupational and speech therapy. 

Students will be observing/shadowing therapist, assisting with treatment planning, assisting with assessing patient's response, progress, etc, creating home exercise programs, assisting with completing SOAP notes, as well as assisting with daily tasks throughout the clinic (sanitizing treatment equipment, etc).

Training for academic intern will include orientation, weekly scheduled meeting with supervisor, shadowing, and participation in any scheduled in-services.

By the end of the academic internship, the student will be able to gain a better understanding of a patient's plan of care, creating treatment plans, and observing the relationship between therapist and patient's caregivers in regard to home exercise programs.
