Young Tree Care Intern At — Kate Sessions Commitment

Opportunity Summary 

The Young Tree Intern works with other KSC interns to increase canopy, community and climate action, by analyzing past and current tree data and working with local community groups grow and maintain healthy trees.

Opportunity Learning Outcomes 

- Collect and update field data to learn from previous tree programs - Refine field methods for assessing condition of trees, provided in spreadsheets - Write short report describing methods, results, and suggestions for future surveys - Analyze local policy and regulations surrounding tree maintenance and decision making - Stay up-to-date on current issues regarding the City of San Diego’s Climate Action Plan (CAP), land development codes, code compliance, community advocacy, etc. - Seek information, contacts, guidance, and feedback from other interns, local professionals, and community members on this project
