DFC Support CoordinatorAt — Escondido Education COMPACT
The DFC Support Coordinator should be a graduate level student that will assist the coordinator in program planning, providing trainings, and setting objectives, health communication and marketing, and program evaluation.
Following the internship opportunity, students should be able to design cultural sensitive, population specific programing. As well, as propose strategies, evaluations, and trainings for stakeholders and building upon coalitions/partnerships in an effort to influence public health and drug free community outcomes. Students will also be able to communicate audience appropriate public health content (orally and written). Lastly, students will be able to apply systems thinking tools to a public health issue and perform effectively on interpersonal teams.
Student will receive training on Drug Free Community Coalition and Prevention models used, as well as trainings on understanding the local community and political dynamics and previous coalition efforts in Escondido. Students will receive trainings and materials on previous curriculums, meetings, workshops and tips for increasing facilitation efforts. Student will receive training on creating, disseminating cultural, and age appropriate public health/policy communication/marketing pieces. Additionally, student will gain training on working within an office setting, in interpersonal teams, and with management level stakeholders.
