**MUST CONTACT RUBEN ALARCON PRIOR TO REGISTERING WITH SITE**
Canine Adoption and Rescue League’s mission is to advocate for animal welfare, seeking to end the needless deaths of companion animals through our adoption, education, and outreach programs. Typically students assist in fulfilling the mission through walking dogs, promoting specific animals or adoption/fundraising events. Students can also help at the CARL Boutique Thrift Store, write grants or help improve facilities, such as gardening or painting.
*The importance of serving animals in need.
*How volunteering can impact the well-being of animals, organizations, and individuals.
*Why it is important to spay or neuter pets.
All students must undergo an initial volunteer training. Then depending on their interest/project goals, will undergo additional training, such as dog handler training.
Working with animals poses risks, however, students who are not comfortable or are unable to work with dogs can perform other duties.
