Opportunity Summary 

Our two organizations will collaborate to identify relevant student learning projects related to the fields of urban planning, active transportation, housing, environmental justice, and community development. While further description will be later defined, the work will consist of a variety of tasks related to a topic of student interest. Tasks can include writing, data analysis, design, community outreach, translations, presentation, site visits, and/or GIS mapping.

Opportunity Learning Outcomes 

Students will have learned about the profession of urban planning through a nonprofit context. This will involve learning how City government works, what "players" are involved, and how nonprofits operate. There will also be learning about how to professionally conduct research, writing, analysis, and meetings.

Opportunity Training 

Students will receive guidance throughout their work, along with regular check-ins, to ensure that they are well-prepared to accomplish assigned tasks.
