Opportunity Summary 

Work as an aide in an outpatient physical therapy clinic, teaching patients exercises with correct form, ensuring safety, maintaining a safe environment

Opportunity Learning Outcomes 

Correct form and way to teach to patients a variety of exercises targeting the entire body, how to properly guard a patient during gait or balance to prevent injury, understanding of common injuries and the theory behind why we use certain treatments for certain diagnoses, contraindications to treatments including electrical stimulation and ultrasound

Opportunity Training 

We do a comprehensive training and review of all exercises used in the clinic, what to look for, how to teach exercises, inservice on how to set up electrical stimulation and ultrasound, initially training involves shadowing PTs and PTAs as well as other aides before they can begin doing hands on activities.

Additional risk specific to this opportunity 

Requires Covid-19 vaccination and symptom screen daily. Training on use of cleaning agents, sharps container, and bloodborne pathogens
