Opportunity Summary 

We provide grief training and service opportunities for CSULB students to co-facilitate 8-week grief support groups on LBUSD school campuses. There will also be additional family programming opportunities to work with bereaved children and their families.

Opportunity Learning Outcomes 

How to facilitate grief support groups, how to support bereaved people, and significant and specialized training around grief theory and peer support.

Opportunity Training 

Students will participate in two 2.5 hour interactive group training events around grief theory, curriculum, and peer support facilitation.

Additional risk specific to this opportunity 

Schools require Covid vaccination and TB testing. All volunteers must also complete a background check.
