Supporting Special Education (18-22 yr olds)At — Adult Transition Program
CSUSM students will be able to volunteer in SMUSD Adult Transition Program. Adult Transition Program (ATP) is a program designed for young adults with disabilities aged 18-22 years of age. The ATP program provides training and instruction to facilitate the transition from public school into appropriate adult programs and supported work placements. CSUSM students will be able to participate in mutually beneficial training in vocational tasks relating to real-world opportunities. CSUSM students have an opportunity to work with 5 different classrooms ranging in ability levels from mild, moderate, and severe individuals with disabilities.

Health and Safety Protocol
- CSUSM students must wear masks at all times while with SMUSD students.
- CSUSM students can never be alone with a SMUSD student.
- CSUSM students must sign SMUSD's Volunteer Acknowledgment form.
CSUSM students will have learned how to support their peers with disabilities in similar stages of life. Students will have a better understanding of what programs are available to teach, work and participate in.
CSUSM students will be given information and background on the students or classroom they are working in daily.
CSUSM students will be working in an environment with students who have a wide range of disabilities.
