Service-Learning OpportunitiesAt — Ronald McDonald Family Room - Ventura
The Ventura County Medical Center has adopted a Ronald McDonald Family Room, the first of its kind in a county medical facility. The Family Room provides respite for families with a child in the hospital. We are seeking volunteers to help staff the Family Room.
How to engage with families that are dealing with a medical crisis with their child. They will also learn how to build community and create a supportive environment for families in a serious time of need.
Extensive training will be provided by both the Ventura County Medical Center and Family Room Manager. This will include how to provide emotional support for families in the midst of a medical crisis with their child and how to ensure the family room is operated well for the comfort of the families we aim to serve.
All volunteers must be Covid-19 vaccinated and wear a face mask to best protect the immune-compromised children we serve.
