Opportunity Summary 

Work with K-12 students in school gardens, nutrition education and cooking lessons, pop-up farmers market events. Would you like to lead a project implementing composting or recycling efforts on campus, to reduce food waste and teach students about how their carbon footprint impacts climate change? Would you like to work on a pollinator/native habitat project or other school garden project? Can you help with our organization's communications and social media campaigns?

Opportunity Learning Outcomes 

Students will learn about growing their own food and gardening, climate smart agriculture practices, local food systems, nutrition, and how to be an educator!

Opportunity Training 

We will provide initial training to support the assigned activity and ongoing training to support troubleshooting any unforeseen challenges that arise.

Additional risk specific to this opportunity 

Safety is a top priority for our program as we are working directly with children. We consider weather events regularly and will cancel garden activities due to extreme heat, unsafe air, rain or wind events. Tool safety is part of our training as well.
