Opportunity Summary 

You will learn the following practical and necessary skills for working with a museum or archives collection; object handling, accessioning, rehousing, creating finding aids, utilizing computer management systems, research, exhibit design, and environmental monitoring. This is invaluable experience anyone looking for a career in museums, archives, or historic spaces and can typically only be found in Internships or select Masters Programs.

Opportunity Learning Outcomes 

Students will be well-prepared for an entry level position within a museum, archive, or historic site with hands-on practical experience in Collection Management/Curation.

Opportunity Training 

All training will be hands-on under close supervision by the Archivist, who will demonstrate each task and then supervise the student until they are competent at the task.

You will be required to handle sharp tools.
