Century Villages at CabrilloAt — Century Villages at Cabrillo

Opportunity Summary 

The Villages at Cabrillo is a 27 acre campus that provides Permanent Supportive Housing to previously homeless individuals, veterans and families. Our residents may be recently housed or have lived in our community for over 15 years. Most students are placed with the Oasis Resident Services team and may work closely with our case managers or youth services. Students ay also participate in our community engagement activities such as our community festivals. There is also an opportunity to work with our fund development team.

Opportunity Learning Outcomes 

Students will learn how to work and communicate with a very diverse population and understand how past trauma effects an individual and their families. Depending on a student's placement, they will also have the opportunity to learn about the City of Long Beach's Multi Service Center and how the City is addressing homelessness. Students will also have opportunities for attending outside trainings that are pertinent to the work we do.

Opportunity Training 

We provide a standard orientation to all students and then direct supervisor would provide training to students based on their placement.

Additional risk specific to this opportunity 

We provide PPE for students and residents when working in close proximity. At this time we do require staff and residents to where masks when meeting inside.
