Academic Support InternAt — A Step Beyond
The academic program at A Step Beyond is expanding its services for all students. We are looking for 2 interns per semester to support our academic program in providing additional tier 3 interventions for our students that are struggling academically and that need more individualized support. This internship provides interns the opportunity to work with youth on a personal level to mentor and empower them to take ownership of their learning and academic journey.
Interns will gain experience in managing a caseload of students, providing academic advising, planning lessons plans for small groups, facilitating workshops/lessons, supporting enrichment clubs, tracking academic progress and data as well as supporting youth in our tutoring lab.
Interns will be a part of an orientation to review all responsibilities.
Step 1: Fill out online application: https://forms.gle/WPMMW7Rta57C2ofY8 Step 2: Academic Manager will review application. If selected, Live Scan form will be emailed to complete fingerprinting. Step 3: Once cleared, Academic Manager will send links to select weekly schedule and date/time for in-person orientation. Step 4: Attend orientation and get approval to select placement on CSUSM database.
