Spring 2023
CRI is currently in the early stages of planning a Volunteer and Partner Organization event in the Spring. With the planning of this event comes the ability to raise money through event giveaways and a silent auction/raffle. We are looking for someone excited to engage other community businesses and organizations who share our passion for conflict resolution and would like to donate funds, gifts, or other items to these activities during our event. If you are interested in strategizing and fundraising, we would love to have you!
The students will have learned numerous skills in conflict resolution and mediation. They will have become certified to conduct mediation in all California Small Claims Courts through this mediation training and will have gained valuable life skills that will be of help in all areas of life. Students will also gain an understanding of what a small non-profit does to pursue its mission of building peace in Ventura County, and how to market that mission through social media and events that are executed.
An initial assessment of the service-learning student's understanding of social media and marketing will be conducted at the beginning of the semester. Supervision will be given as to how to post effective content on the social media sites of the organization. Additionally, specific duties related to planning for and executing the events will be supervised by the staff and clear direction given. The service-learning student will have the ability to use judgment and creativity as they learn and grow more comfortable with the duties.
There are no safety considerations at this time.
