Opportunity Summary 

If you are interested in seeing the ins and outs of a successful, robust environmental non-profit that supports the local Agua Hedionda Lagoon in Carlsbad, then this is the academic internship for you! We are looking for students with the following background to support our evolving non-profit: business, environmental, sustainability, animal care/rehabilitation, trail maintenance/restoration, education, marketing, grant writing and communications.

Opportunity Learning Outcomes 

After a completed internship at AHLF, students will have learned what it's like to wear multiple hats of a growing environmental non-profit and participate in many different departments and conversations that are all rooted in the same goal of supporting our local watershed.

Opportunity Training 

Upon the beginning of students' internships, all training and education will take place at the Discovery Center in Carlsbad. Depending on what type of work a student is most interested in exploring within the organization will decide which AHLF staff member will train each intern and assign projects and tasks.
