Teach Seniors to Use Technology! At — Community Tech Network (CTN)
At Community Tech Network, we help low-income older adults learn how to use technology and get connected to essential services like social media and email. As a virtual volunteer, you'd be working one-on-one with a senior learner to help them with basic technology questions over Zoom. You'll be able to build relationships, help them access essential resources, and more. We're also looking for virtual volunteers to help us with things like our virtual Q&As, tech support, or to host virtual webinars on common technology topics for our learners!
This is an especially great opportunity for anyone who speaks Cantonese, Mandarin or Spanish.
As part of our onboarding process, you'll go through an online training that goes over the basics of working with older adults(seniors), and you'll also get access to some of our curricula designed to help our instructors teach seniors how to do common things on the internet like accessing YouTube, or learning how to set up a telehealth account, etc.
We provide ongoing support and our asynchronous resources, we have ongoing tech support, and as Volunteer Coordinator, I'm here as a point of contact to make sure that you're onboarded in a timely fashion and that you have a good experience!
