Classroom Visits Assistant InstructorAt — Salinas Community Science Workshop

Opportunity Summary 

Service learners at the Salinas Community Science Workshop will aid the lead instructor in 90-minute-long elementary school visits to our workshop. Each session includes a pre-selected science project that meets NGSS standards. Students will help in troubleshooting building, inspiring curiosity, and guiding students to creative problem solving. Grades include 4th, 5th and 6th grade with group sizes from 15-25 students. Students --depending on availability-- may also serve as an assistant instructor to STEAM Gxrls sessions, under the similar general responsibilities, with additional opportunities to engage in lesson planning and field trip planning.
