Opportunity Summary 

Immerse yourself in a dynamic environment of waste stream recovery and reuse sales.  Join in the fun to bring to life the "people, planet, & profits" motto! Last Chance Mercantile (LCM) is looking for service learners to work alongside staff and other volunteers to ensure this organization prospers - benefitting people and planet!

9am-12pm shifts

Every Tuesday - Saturday

Warehouse, Yard, & Receiving Team tasks include:

  • Organizing, straightening, cleaning, re-sorting merchandise by section
  • Sweeping or vacuuming spaces
  • Putting away go-backs from the cashier area
  • Weeding and watering the front garden / entry area
  • Checking for price tags (returning to pricer if missing)
  • Assisting in tagging merchandise with prices

Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift 40 lbs.
  • Must be able to standing, squat, bend at waist for long periods of time
  • Volunteer waiver signed (parental signature required if under 18 years old)
Opportunity Training 

LCM staff will provide an orientation to the spaces, tasks, and safety measures.  Students are expected to take initiative to support the operations.

Service learners will be supervised by LCM staff at all times, and no one is too far away for help at any time.
