Youth Development Professional - Live Oak ClubhouseAt — Boys and Girls Clubs of Santa Cruz County, Live Oak Clubhouse
Student at Boys and Girls Club of Santa Cruz County Live Oak Clubhouse should possess an understanding of how to work with youth, sensitivity to their needs and an understanding of their concerns.
Service learners will:
- Create an environment that facilitates the achievement of Youth Development Outcomes.
- Ensure that members are encouraged to participate in a variety of program areas/activities and receive instruction and constructive feedback to develop skills in program areas.
- Demonstrate leadership to assure conduct, safety and development of members.
- Possibly plan and oversee the administration of designated Clubhouse programs and activities that support Youth Development outcomes.
- Help ensure the evaluation of Club programs on a continual basis and ensures programs/activities respond to member needs and address their gender and cultural diversity.
Students needed during any of the following times:
- Mondays, Tuesdays, & Thursdays: 2-6 p.m.
- Wednesdays & Fridays: 12:30-6 p.m.
3 service learner spots
- Background Check (e.g. fingerprinting/livescan, driving record)
- Must be 18 or older
- Pre-placement training (mandated reporter, on-boarding = ~6 hours)
We provide on the job training and educate our employees and volunteers through BGCA and our online continued education.
Opportunity Supervision
We provide support of additional team members and training whenever needed.
Students may be working unsupervised with minor or other vulnerable populations. We work with children ages 6-18.
