Science FridaysAt — Raíces y Cariño
Students at Raíces y Cariño meet to create STEAM lesson plans (STEAM: Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Mathematics) Brainstorming touring space. Create timeline of events for ages 2-5, 6 - 10, 11 - 13, 14+. Co-facilitate STEAM lessons. If you feel you meet some, but not all of the description and qualifications, we still encourage you to apply.
2 service learner spots
- Background Check (e.g. fingerprinting/livescan, driving record)
- Computer Literacy
- Health Check/Screening (e.g. temperature screening, COVID-19 test)
- Bilingual Desired
Onsite or remote one-on-one meetings with executive director and partner organization leaders to begin program research and development. Weekly meetings and calls as needed. Contacts to professional collaborators in the field. If you feel you meet some, but not all of the description and qualifications, we still encourage you to apply.
Weekly check-ins by phone, video, or in-person. Mentoring provided by executive directors and RC staff.
Students may be required to work at night (after 6pm). Or, students may be supervised less than 50% of the time or the supervisor will be overseeing more than 8 people. Students may be required to work at night (after 6pm)
