UCSC Educational Partnership Center (EPC) GEAR UP/ACCESS/EAOP Academic InternAt — UCSC Educational Partnership Center (EPC)
As a part of the UCSC Educational Partnership Center (EPC), undergraduate students who are currently enrolled in a community college or university are being recruited to fill several GEAR UP / ACCESS / EAOP Academic Intern positions.
Prospective interns need to be enrolled in school full time, and can work a maximum of 15-19 hours per week. Once hired, their job entails academic advising to first-generation and diverse group of students. They also serve as mentors, college and career guides, and higher education advocates for our students.
Service learner spots vary by semester.
Requirements:
- Must be full-time student (12+ units)
- Background Check (e.g. fingerprinting/livescan, driving record)
- Computer Literacy
- Must be 18 or older
- TB Test - negative result
- Bilingual Desired, but not required
Preferred Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:
- Have one semester of college experience.
- STEM Major or background.
- Knowledge of academic and college preparation programs such as GEAR UP, EAOP, MESA,
- AVID or Upward Bound.
- Prior Tutoring experience in math, English language arts, science and history at secondary schools.
This is a part-time job, 15 hours per week. Needed availability: Mon - Fri, 8am - 5pm.

Onboarding and ongoing training to be able to carry out all assigned tasks mentioned above will be provided. Supervision will be in-person. Professional development workshops and training will be offered to interns carrying out services to our students.
