Opportunity Summary
Service learners in this opportunity at USDA-ARS will:
- perform laboratory activities. Laboratory techniques include extraction, polymerase chain reaction, and gel electrophoresis using plant samples.
- help manage a project regarding a virus affecting lettuce. Includes scoring symptoms and performing enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA).
- help with greenhouse and nursery activities. Includes watering and fertilizing plants.

- Driver's License
- Must be 18 or older
- Vaccinations
