CAB'S Special Projects Intern (3 positions available): Special Projects is a program of the Community Action Board of Santa Cruz County, Inc. (CAB) focused on providing education and outreach to low-income individuals and families on various topics such as COVID-19, vaccines, workplace health and safety laws, economic relief for immigrants, Medi-Cal and public benefits and other topics. We're looking for bilingual interns to support our following programs, Proyecto Salud, Storm Assistance for Immigrants (SAI), and/or Medi-Cal Outreach Program. This internship entails working with CAB staff to engage immigrants, families of mixed immigration status, farm workers, low-wage workers, persons with limited English proficiency and other populations to become knowledgeable about the various programs and provide direct 1:1 assistance. We seek someone with a passion for community outreach, an interest in public health or social services, and strong organizational and communication skills. This internship offers hands-on experience and an opportunity to contribute to an essential community initiative. Bilingual proficiency (English/Spanish) Required. Reports to Program Coordinators. Intern will support in the following: · Data Entry · Education & Outreach Efforts · Marketing & Communications (social media, flyers, etc.) · Screening participants via the multilingual information line · Possible enrollment for economic relief and public services
