OUR INTERNSHIP PROGRAM
UsedCardboardBoxes & UCBZeroWaste (UCB) designs, implements, and manages large-scale waste reduction programs that help major US companies reduce waste (cost) and increase recycling & reuse (revenue). We help them get to Zero Waste to Landfill at no out-of-pocket cost.
We are looking to employ an enthusiastic and driven Human Resource intern to assist our HR department with administrative and HR-related tasks. To be successful as an HR intern, you should keep abreast of the latest developments in labor legislation to determine how company HR policies may be affected. An outstanding HR intern should be detail-oriented and able to demonstrate excellent administrative and organizational skills. The Intern will be expected to learn the policies and procedures of UCB and adhere to those.
INTERNSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES
- Update our internal databases with new employee information, including contact details and employment forms.
- Screen resumes and application forms.
- Schedule and confirm interviews with candidates.
- Post, update and remove job ads from job boards, careers pages and social networks.
- Prepare HR-related reports as needed.
- Participate in organizing company events and careers days.
REQUIREMENTS
- Organized and great attention to detail
- Must be able to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Good communication skills, ability to run a conference call and update all parties.
- Passion for personal growth and advancement
- Detail-oriented with excellent written and verbal communication skills.- Excellent computer skills (MS Word, MS PowerPoint, Google Docs/Sheets, etc.).
- Passion for the environment and helping people/companies reduce environmental impact.

Tasks:
Under the supervision of our staff, the HR Intern can expect to participate in the end-to--end recruiting process, weekly team meetings, achieving quarterly HR goals, building relationship with universities and leading any HR-related projects.

Training:
The Intern will be working with UCB'S HR team. The intern will report to our LA office at least twice a week and will have the opportunity to work directly with our CEO. He/she will also do job shadowing with each team members then do the tasks on his/her own and received feedback from the team.

Qualify candidates based on interviews.
Navigate recruiting platforms to source for applicants.
Understand importance of employee engagement, training and development.
