Eco Ambassador Program Assistant At — Eco Ambassadors @ MPUSD
As an Eco Ambassador Program Assistant, you'll join me in lessons across 10 elementary schools, working with 4th and 5th grade students on a schedule during the school day. Together, we'll inspire curiosity, creativity, and hands-on learning experiences in nature.
Your role will involve co-leading lessons, maintaining school gardens, creating activities, and guiding students in recording their findings and scientific illustrations.

- TB Risk Assessment (within last 6 months)

- Reliable transportation to different school sites within MPUSD

1. Orientation: Rebekah will provide a comprehensive orientation session that introduces service-learning students to the overall objectives of the Eco Ambassador Program, the specific curriculum, classroom expectations and the role they will play as assistants.
2. Classroom observation: Rebekah will encourage the service learners to initially observe her teaching style, classroom dynamics and student's interactions. This will help students learn the learning environment and some instructional techniques.
3. Individualized Training: Rebekah wants to know what the specific service learners' interests are and how they seek to utilize their strengths and interests in this role.
4. Co Teaching Opportunities: Rebekah will create co teaching opportunities where service learner students can gain comfort in co teaching with her.
5. Feedback and reflection: After each step we will gather and share formally or informally, what worked and where we seek to grow and improve our skills.
6. Resources: Rebekah will direct students to resources, such as books, sites, other professionals that match their interests and would be helpful to the students learning.
In addition to the training steps listed above, Rebkah plans to create a dynamic, supportive, inclusive environment where students can feel comfortable asking questions, seek guidance and express their ideas and concerns.
