Dental Assistant InternAt — Whittier Dental Group

Calling patients and settling them into the dental chairs, pulling up X-rays, setting up for dental procedures, and then cleaning and sterilizing the rooms for the next patient. Also learning to sterilize instruments and assisting the doctors with the dental procedures. 

Training
There will be an initial general employee orientation followed by job shadowing a veteran dental assistant.

Learning Outcomes
By the end of the academic internship, the students will be able to set up for specific dental procedures to be performed by the doctors, work alongside the doctors with the dental procedure, and sterilize instruments for the next patients.
