Opportunity Summary 

Direct Clinical Experiences ● Individual counseling: Individual counseling with Stan State students, including intake assessments and crisis evaluations ● Groups: Lead/Co-lead psychoeducational groups in specific topic areas as determined by clinical need. (e.g., Depression, Anxiety, DBT, Grief & Loss, Parenting) ● Multidisciplinary consults: Participation in consultations with medical professionals at the Student Health Center, University Faculty, and other campus departments on the mental health needs of students ● Outreach: Participation in psychoeducational presentations and outreach activities for the Stan State campus

Opportunity Training 

Initial Orientation to go over Policies and Procedures of CAPS, learn ERS, and how to deal with any crisis/traumatic situations student/clients are dealing with. Training is ongoing throughout internship with direct supervisor meeting weekly with student. Students are also part of CAPS team meetings and two case consultation meetings per week.

Additional risk specific to this opportunity 

Interns receive training on how to deal with emergencies at CAPS as well as COVID-19 protocols.
