Teacher Assistant - PSYCH495-M. CaseAt — CSUF - College of Humanities & Social Science
The teacher assistant will aide with two sections of CAS101 I am teaching this semester that are online and asynchronous. The T.A. will assist me in holding office hours, hosting discussion board Q and A's, preparing students for important assignments. She will also provide students with feedback and communicate weekly to support student needs.
Learning Outcomes
By the end of the internship, the student will be able to clearly communicate course expectations and assignments to students in CAS101.
By the end of the internship, the student will be able to provide concise feedback and support student with important concepts throughout each chapter in our textbook.
By the end of the internship, the student will be able to host final exam/midterm Zoom meetings to provide support to students who may be struggling with assignments or exam prep.
Training
To help the student achieve the proposed learning outcomes, I will meet with her weekly to communicate expectations and check-in with students who may be struggling.
To help the student achieve the proposed learning outcomes, I will review important points within each chapter that students should be expected to know for the midterm/final exams.
To help the student achieve the proposed learning outcomes, I will provide the T.A. with study guides and rubrics to facilitate office hours and Q + A discussion boards.
Tasks/Duties
The intern will demonstrate the learning outcomes by:
-hosting weekly hour long office hours on Zoom
-provide students with support by reviewing important concepts in the text with students
-communicate frequently via Discussion Board post with students who respond with Q+A's
-review rubrics and assignments to provide students with additional support
-give feedback on assignments, if turned in early, to assist students in receiving a better grade on an assignment
-supply students with study guide materials to prepare for the midterm and final exam
