Join the Snowy Plover Guardians!
Encourage public stewardship of coastal ecosystems and promote responsible recreation practices that protect native species, especially the Western Snowy Plover, a Federally Threatened shore bird that nests and overwinters on our beaches.
Join our team of Plover Guardians and make a difference for this special habitat by tabling at beach access points at Monterey State beaches.

- Background Check (e.g. fingerprinting/livescan, driving record)
- Bilingual Desired
There is one virtual training, one in-person group training, shadowing opportunities, and one on one training options. Students recieve one on one support and check in meetings.
Service location is outside at public beaches. Additional environmental hazards may include sun exposure, high surf, inclement weather, etc.
Local state beaches are public parks with a range of visitors, so criminal activity is possible. Please keep alert and keep yourself safe at all times.
