Your role involves promoting interest in youth programs, ensuring participant safety, and handling diverse tasks, including lifting and transporting equipment weighing 25 pounds or less, along with providing emergency CPR and first aid when necessary.

Training
During this internship, students will undergo comprehensive training to facilitate their learning outcomes, with a primary focus on youth programs. The training program begins with a mandatory general employer orientation, providing an overview of local government operations, municipal regulations governing youth programs, and safety protocols. Students will participate in one-on-one mentor meetings, where they can seek guidance, discuss ongoing projects, and receive constructive feedback. Job shadowing opportunities will be provided to immerse students in the day-to-day operations of youth programs, allowing them to observe and learn from experienced professionals.

Workshops and skills training sessions will be conducted to enhance the intern's abilities in event planning, community engagement, and program coordination. Assigned tasks will be contextualized within the broader framework of local government, ensuring students comprehend the significance of their role in the organization.

To assess their knowledge and skills, interns may undergo evaluations periodically. This multifaceted training approach aims to equip students with a well-rounded skill set, combining theoretical knowledge with practical experience in youth program management within the local government context.

Learning Outcomes
By the end of the academic internship, the student will be proficient in developing and coordinating youth programs within the local government context.
