Dental AssistantAt — Ocean Dental Group

Student will be learning about instrument sterilization, infection control, equipment maintenance, assisting dental procedures, patient support, record keeping, inventory management, radiographic procedures , and compliance.

Tasks:

Student will:
-Clean/sterilize dental instruments and equipment following established protocols.
-Organize and prepare instrument trays for dental procedures.
-Assist in maintaining and organizing dental equipment and supplies.
-Provide chairside assistance to dentists during various dental procedures.
-Prepare and set up treatment rooms for patient appointments.
-Comfort and reassure patients, explaining procedures and answering any questions they may have.
-Document patient treatment information and update charts as needed.
-Assist with taking and processing dental X-rays as directed by the dentist.
-Stay informed about and comply with relevant health and safety regulations and guidelines.

Training:

Student will have continuous feedback and evaluations, hands-on practice under general supervision, and simulated scenarios.

Learning Outcome:

By the end of the academic internship, the student will be able to demonstrate proficiency in sterilization procedures, assist effectively in dental procedures, implement radiographic procedures, maintain a hygienic dental environment, communicate effectively with patients, document and record keep, adhere to regulatory compliance, and collaborate as a team member.
