Opportunity Summary 

Tasks:

Conduct Interviews with families with special needs Children and Adolescents.
Explain the Program and obtain necessary Consent Forms.
Conduct testing using Neurofeedback, Licensed Reading Program, and Math Program.
Evaluate school documentation (IEP, Triannual tests results, annual reading/math results from schools, diagnosis information and parent disclosure information.
Prepare Recommended Treatment Program for Supervisor review.
Set up review of treatment plan with parent and schedule start dates and participate in the initial session.

Training:

\n

To help student achieve the learning outcomes, I will provide the following training:
1. Provide instruction on the difference between 504 plan and IEP.
2. Training on the interview process of Parents/Students.
3.Training to assist tutor to understand how special needs students. learn differently and provide resources.
4. Provide the characteristics of students on the Autism Spectrum, ADHD, Dyslexia and other learning disabilities.
5.Training on how to conduct Neurofeedback, Mindplay Reading Program and other application to assist students learn.
6. How to prepare treatment plans, document sessions, and conduct reviews with Supervisor and parents,

Meeting weekly via zoom or in person and every session for feedback.

Learning Outcome:

\n

By the end of internship, the student will be able to conduct interviews with minimal support from Supervisor. Knowledgeable of Disabilities Education Act and how it provides for appropriate public education tailored to student needs. Student will know and be able to describe difference between 504 plans and an IEP. They will be able to incorporate goals into tutoring for the students learning. Student will understand how to describe IEP documentation and 504 plans to Parents.
