Classroom Teaching InternAt — Huntington Christian School
The classroom teaching intern will assist with a variety of learning activities in the classroom, including assisting students with assignments, working with small groups of students, and delivering whole class instruction. Interacting and building relationships with students is a critical aspect of the intern’s role in the classroom. From time to time the intern will be required to review, grade, and provide feedback on student work.
The intern will demonstrate achievement of the learning outcomes by:
Assisting students during independent work.
Leading small group lessons.
Planning and leading whole group instruction.
Grading assignments and providing feedback.
Training:
The intern will receive a general orientation, regularly scheduled mentor meetings as well as job shadowing with guided debriefings.
Learning Outcomes:
By the end of the academic internship, the student will be able to assist with a variety of learning activities, interact and build relationships with students, demonstrate expressive speaking ability in the context of small group and whole group instruction and effectively plan and implement academic lessons.
