Volunteer/InternAt — Neighborhood Legal Services / Self-Help Legal Access Center (NLS, NLSLA DASH)
NLSLA volunteers are an essential part of the organization, and stand alongside attorneys and advocates in fighting for individual rights and systemic change. Our volunteers work with advocates doing community outreach in neighborhoods throughout Los Angeles, assist our legal staff at Self-Help Clinics at the Los Angeles Superior Court, and support administrative staff in our offices.
Volunteering with NLSLA (Neighborhood Legal Services of Los Angeles County) provides volunteers with a diverse range of experiences and opportunities to learn and contribute to the organization's mission of advocating for individual rights and systemic change. Here are some key learnings a volunteer might gain understanding of legal advocacy, community engagement skills, legal assistance skills, and understanding of social justice issues.
