Opportunity Summary 

We are looking for energetic, forward-thinking individuals to join our nonprofit organization and advance our mission. Under the supervision of Director/Founder Mika Marzette, the intern will coordinate program events. In this role, they are expected to: Understand the organization, its culture, mission, and goals. Understand the current issues, trends, and changes that affect the nonprofit. Apply knowledge and skills such as time management and analytical thinking to their assigned projects. Identify areas of personal and professional growth and demonstrate improvement in these areas. The Events Intern will be responsible for supporting the administration, coordination, and evaluation of events and activities involving our programming. This individual will concierge-level service to alumni staff, attendees, donors, members, and partners, proactively anticipating needs and wishes, interacting directly with donors, and problem-solving on the spot to a myriad of confidential, personal donor and event-related issues.

As a nonprofit focused on self-development and enhancing critical consciousness, interns will learn practical methods they can use to solve problems in their everyday lives. The intern opportunities run concurrently with each school semester with the opportunity to extend if mutually agreed upon.

Opportunity Training 

To equip students with the necessary skills and knowledge to fulfill their responsibilities effectively, we offer a comprehensive training program tailored to their needs. Here's an overview of the training provided: Onboarding: New students receive orientation on our structure, policies, and resources available. Learning Sessions: Regular workshops cover time management, communication, and tools like Asana and Slack. Meet and Greets: Periodic events allow students to network with faculty and peers, fostering collaboration. Syllabus: Detailed curriculum guides students through their responsibilities and learning objectives. Gantt Charts: Training is provided on creating and using Gantt charts for project planning and tracking. Final Project: Students complete a comprehensive final project with guidance and support. This condensed version still covers the key training aspects provided to students for their responsibilities.
