Assist Health Services Lead Credentialed school nurse in school district health and wellness duties, including direct services under supervision, administrative, and support duties.
Organization of an in-service for employees on a health topic, organization of an in-service for students on a health topic, and assisting credentialed school nurses in organizing and synthesizing health data from the school district to identify opportunities to increase health and wellness. Observe and identify credentialed school nurse duties, tasks, and roles and the impact these have on community health.
Training:
General employer orientation, job shadowing, training and professional development meetings, and provision of work samples.
Learning Outcomes:
By the end of the academic internship, the student will be able to identify 3 ways schools affect or support community health,
Identify 3 ways a credentialed school nurse impacts school and community health, and identify how schools work with county public health organizations in community school infectious outbreaks.
