Opportunity Summary 

This role involves providing tailored strategic resources and skills to help members effectively achieve their individual academic and personal goals, utilizing curriculum and social-emotional learning (SEL) strategies.

Tasks:

Under supervision, interns will facilitate 1:1 or group sessions through curriculum engagement and social emotional learning practices. They will develop strategies for managing and de-escalting student behavior as well as designing lessons that will be implemented during instructional time.

Training:

Interns will participate in a two-week shadowing period to gain confidence in their roles and responsibilities, ensuring they are well-prepared for their professional duties. In addition, interns will participate in weekly team meetings that provide opportunities for reflective practices and strategic guidance.

Learning Outcome:

1. Work collaboratively and foster relationships with peers and members of the after school program.
2. Utilize different strategies to guide and support children in a positive and effective manner
3.Learn to create an inclusive environment that respects and acknowledges the population we serve.
4.Identify and address issues or challenges that arise in the program.
5.Plan and execute age-appropriate activities.
