Opportunity Summary 

Gain understanding and experience with adolescent parent population through Fristers nonprofit. Assist with weekly program preparation and implementation. Interact with mothers through monthly goal setting, facilitating the intake process, and distributing community resources for moms. Students will gain understanding and case management experience working with at-risk teen parent population, and develop essential competencies required to succeed in a professional environment. Major in Human Services, Psychology, Sociology, Counseling or fields relevant to position. Friendly, warm, and welcoming attitude. Self-starter, reliable, resourceful, and detail oriented.

Assist with weekly program implementation including classroom set up, check in process, and dinner service. Interact with moms through monthly goal setting, facilitating the intake process, and distributing community resources for moms.

Training:

Students will participate in a training at the Fristers business office in Irvine.
Student will receive a minimum 4 hour training which incorporates vital statistics on the adolescent parent population and their children, Fristers’ methods and methodologies for addressing the needs of adolescent parents and children, best practices for building healthy relationships with people who come from low income backgrounds including ACE (Adverse Childhood Experiences) Interface training, and specific direction for required tasks and responsibilities.
