Casa Teresa Social Media Intern Job Description: Top Duties and Qualifications

Casa Teresa is a loving home for pregnant women in crisis experiencing homelessness. Our vision is to break cycles, transform women, and help families thrive through effective, caring residential programs. We accomplish this by offering pregnant women a safe home for healing, tools to succeed in education and future careers, and classes to teach parenting skills and life lessons which builds the confidence needed to become self-reliant and re-enter society.

The purpose of the Social Media Intern is to support strategic communications to help raise awareness about Casa Teresa and its mission. This is an excellent opportunity for an undergraduate student seeking experience in the nonprofit communications field and is an unpaid/volunteer internship but may be eligible for course credit (dependent on institution's requirements).

Work is flexible and will be completed during business hours (9am-5pm). However, the intern may be requested to attend events outside of business hours in order to manage social media.

·         Assist with the design and execution of social media campaigns on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn

·         Create posts and campaigns in-line with the organizational style guide

·         Create weekly and monthly editorial calendars to promote company brands on various social media websites

·         Collaborate with staff to create and distribute content such as e-newsletter, infographics, videos and press releases on social media and other digital outlets

·         Track social media engagement to identify high-performing ideas and campaigns for scalability

·         Perform social media marketing research

·         Assist on influencer ambassador campaign strategy

·         Respond to comments and DMs on social media platforms

·         Brainstorm and research ideas for original content

·         Create compelling graphics to share across social channels

·         Write social media captions that speak to Casa Teresa’s target audience

·         Help create and edit short-form videos

·         Develop new strategies for increasing engagement

·         Assist with photo/video content shoots

·         Ensure brand messaging is consistent

·         Assist with website content updates\u202f

·         Provide administrative and clerical support for fundraising campaigns and events

Qualifications:

·         Currently enrolled in an accredited college, university or trade school or recent graduate

·         Major in business, communications, marketing, journalism, public relations or related field

·         Understands and can utilize emerging platforms, digital media, and web/social media management and measurement tools

·         Strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines

·         Excellent oral and written communications skills

·         Self-starter and fast learner motivated for success of team

·         Strong proof-reading skills and attention to detail

\\Many of our population have a history of drug and alcohol use. There is zero tolerance regarding drug or alcohol use while living at Casa Teresa. Our safety measures include 24 hours supervision and cameras located inside and outside the building. Neighborhood watch program, strong relationships in the community, 24-hour staffing supervision. Staff are trauma informed and trained in conflict resolution. Students are trained to excuse themselves and locate a staff member to handle the situation. All residents are drug tested. Policies in place that prevent other relations or persons from entering facilities. Due to the nature of congregate living, there is an increased risk of communicable diseases. Staff and interns are expected to follow safety protocols to mitigate risks.\\
