Opportunity Summary 

Providing small group support to students across grades TK-6th

Ongoing mentorship and support from a certificated staff.

As an intern, you will be responsible for providing academic support to students classified as needing special education, in accordance with each student's individualized education program  (IEP) and the set goals. This role will require you to work closely with students in grades 2-6, and to assist them in achieving their academic objectives through personalized learning techniques.

Training:

Intern will be meeting on a consistent basis with mentor and possibly administration.
To ensure that you are fully prepared for your role, you will undergo a comprehensive training program that includes a two-week orientation with the special education teacher. Additionally, you will have completed a mandated reporter training module, which equips you with the knowledge and skills necessary to identify and report suspected cases of abuse or neglect. These trainings will prepare you to provide high-quality educational support to your students in a safe and responsible manner.

Learning Outcomes:

Apply knowledge of supporting students directly with students.

Through your internship, you will have the opportunity to apply the theories and knowledge you have acquired throughout your coursework to real-world situations. You will learn how to effectively assess each student's needs and work with them to achieve their academic goals. Additionally, you will collaborate with your colleagues to build positive, supportive relationships that facilitate a productive learning environment.
