Opportunity Summary 

Social Media Intern is an entry-level position that provides social media planning and scheduling support to account executives, other members of the agency, and clients. This position assists in the day-to-day administration of public affairs, public relations, communications, event management, marketing, and advertising initiatives on behalf of the agency's clients. 

Tasks:

Develop Social Media Strategy Including:
-Meeting with clients and team to establish goals & messaging
-Plan and write informative and engaging content
-Coordinate with Art Department for visual content
-Coordinate client approvals

Social Media Implementation Including:
-Create content calendars
-Coordinate posting schedules
-Coordinate paid social media advertising

Social Media Reporting Including:
-Monitoring Engagement
-Analyze data to measure campaign success
-Creating Key Performance Indicators (KPI) reports for clients' social media platforms and website analytics.

Preparing Account Service-related Documents Such As:
-Client communications and correspondence
-Participating in and documenting discussions during client meetings and conference calls

Fielding and Processing Internal Information Requests

Maintaining Current Work-in-Progress Records and Archives of Past Project Information as Appropriate

The student will receive the following training during their internship:

1. General Employer Orientation
2. Client & Project Onboarding
3. Software Training as applicable (WIX, Canva, Adobe Acrobat, Hootsuite, Later, Toggle, Asana, Slack, etc.)
4. Weekly scheduled meetings with mentor and account manager
5. Job shadowing with an Account Manager

Learning outcome:

By the end of the academic internship, the student will be able to do the following:

Independently develop draft materials for review and distribution/publication on behalf of clients.

Create and Interpret Key Performance Indicators (KPI) and Analytics Reports for the client.

Develop and coordinate follow-up strategies based on KPI reports.

Obtain a working knowledge of how public relations, marketing, and graphic design tasks are received from the client, completed, reviewed for quality control, and then submitted to the client.
