Behavior TechnicianAt — Center for Autism and Related Disorders
Behavior Technicians implement center, school, community and home based treatment programs for CARD patients and their families using applied behavior analysis (ABA). CARD Behavior Technician Trainees will be enrolled in the CARD Behavior Technician Training Program which is an Applied Behavior Analysis training program designed to prepare individuals to successfully conduct therapy sessions with CARD patients. Behavior Technician Trainees must complete all coursework and pass all required exams in order to be eligible to move into the Behavior Technician I position. Behavior Technician Trainees report to the CARD behavior analysts. This is an hourly, non-exempt, part-time or full-time position.
Tasks
Maintain accurate and timely records
Report to behavior analyst on patient progress and implement feedback during each therapy session
Participate in regular meetings including monthly staff training
Maintain HIPAA compliance at all times, across all settings
Minimize cancellations
Maintain billable requirements
Training
Be able to pass Initial Therapist Training including: completion of online eLearning modules and quizzes, participation in hands on role play sessions with trainer, completion of field training with patients, passing a comprehensive written exam and passing a field evaluation prior to working independently with patients.
Learning Outcomes
Frequently teach patients to use vocal speech. Must be able to articulate sound and model speaking clearly, as well as listen to Shape vocal communication of patients.
use modeling to teach gross motor skills, such as climbing or jumping, and fine motor skills such as clapping or opening a container.
Work in both indoor and outdoor settings as they relate to the patient’s natural environment, which may include being outdoors in a variety of weather conditions (e.g., community skills, recess in a school setting, etc.).
