Opportunity Summary 

This position will provide experience in day-to-day classroom tasks including grading assignments, providing feedback to students, lesson planning, and assisting/communicating with students. Because this involves direct interaction with students, great communication skills are necessary. The position requires 120 hours over the course of the semester which will be met through a variety of tasks including attending class sessions, grading, and holding office hours. Other tasks may include reviewing/updating lessons, creating answer keys, making class announcements, and holding review sessions.

The intern will demonstrate the learning outcomes by grading student assignments, holding review sessions, assisting in reviewing and updating lessons, creating answer keys, and conducting preliminary exam scoring/analysis.

Training:

To help the student achieve the proposed learning outcomes, I will guide the student in lesson planning/revising, creating scoring rubrics and giving constructive feedback, scoring exams and conducting item analyses on exams.

Learning Outcomes:

By the end of the internship, the student will be able to explain/instruct students in statistical concepts as they apply to psychological research, evaluate coursework and provide feedback, design/prepare lessons, and score/analyze exam data.
