Opportunity Summary 

Join Alisal Center for the Fine Arts (ACFA) as a Teaching Assistant, supporting the delivery of engaging arts education programs.  Our programs are focused on Guitar/Music, Dance (Mexican Folkloric), and Visual Art.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with art, dance, and/or music class setup and instruction.
  • Manage classroom dynamics and student interactions.
  • Prepare and organize art, dance, and/or music supplies.
  • Support students individually or in small groups.
  • Perform administrative tasks and assist with events.
  • Provide feedback to enhance student experience.

6 service learners

  • Background Check (e.g. fingerprinting/livescan, driving record)
  • TB Test
  • Bilingual Desired
Opportunity Training 

Service learners will train with teaching artists on approaches and techniques to assisting in their class. Service learners will have weekly check-ins with Teaching Artists and Executive Director for updates on tasks and projects.

Additional risk specific to this opportunity 

Students may be required to work at night (after 6pm). Or, students may be supervised less than 50% of the time or the supervisor will be overseeing more than 8 people. Our center serves students during the evening hours of 5:30-8:30pm.
