Tasks
individual work with developing readers; group lessons in cursive handwriting; monitoring student progress and planning for future goals; group lessons in developing an understanding of place value and the decimal system; work reading with students at the single word level and in context

Training
Provision of work samples, to guide the intern; job shadowing assistants and Directress; contextualization of assigned tasks

Learning Outcomes
teach early reading skills, focusing on phonetic development, sight word mastery, and whole language approaches; instruct students in cursive handwriting; help students develop a full understanding of the decimal system through the use of manipulative materials; modify lessons to meet the needs of students with academic weaknesses
