Assistant Football CoachAt — Capistrano Unified School District
The position of assistant football coach entails providing a positive experience for students through the game of football. The coach will coordinate with other coaches to design practice structures, drills, and improvement plans to help kids reach their potential. The assistant coach will assist in the weightroom, lead film sessions, assist during movement prep and overall execution of practice.
Tasks
-Lead groups of athletes during practice and games.
-Lead training sessions for athletes.
-Design plans to help kids improve on and off the field.
-Assist coaches in game planning.
-Assist medical staff and communicate regarding injuries and re-hab.
Training
General employer orientation (mandatory)- CUSD Clearance
Weekly scheduled meetings, job shadowing, workshops/skills training, provision of work samples, overview/contextualization of assigned tasks, training literature reviews and testing.
Learning Outcomes
- Design, lead and execute practice plans and overall development for student-athletes.
- Communicate with a large staff or group of employees to ensure systems, framework and processes are in place and executed.
-Design effective drills and trainings to help improve mental and physical capabilities to perform at the highest level.
