Opportunity Summary 

I am looking for an intern that is self-motivated and a natural leader. This position will consist of but not limited to the following topics: 

- Nutrition

- Foodservice

- Personnel and Communications

- Sanitation and Safety

- Business Operations

Student will be working with the dishwasher and practicing sanitation and safety techniques instructed by the CDM. Student will be exposed to food textures and therapeutic diets during resident mealtimes. Student will be reading through different diagnosis that affects each patients' diets.

Training:

Student will receive weekly one-on-one conversations with CDM. Student will shadow CDM once a week to see what the expectations are for the internship.

Learning Outcomes:

By the end of the academic internship, the student will be able to demonstrate and hold knowledge of the different food textures and therapeutic diets in the healthcare foodservice industry; be able to perform and train others on sanitation and safety which include storage temperatures, refrigerator temperatures, accurate chemical storage, and knowledge of SDS. Additionally, student will be able to execute trayl9ine service to the best of their ability.
