SCAR InternshipAt — South County Animal Rescue (SCAR)

Opportunity Summary 

The internship opportunity with SCAR will provide hand-on learning and experience about nonprofit management and program development. As a volunteer-led organization serving the entire Salinas Valley, SCAR rescues approximately 500 animals each year. Students will be able to shadow and be trained by experienced animal rescue professionals and develop key programs to better serve our community.

Requirements:

  • Driver's License
  • Must be 18 or older
  • Bilingual Desired
Opportunity Training 

Orientation about the organization, mission, values, services and programs offered to the community. Training, support and guidance will provided on how to administer adoptions, coordinate and manage adoption events, fundraising events.

Additional risk specific to this opportunity 

Students may be working along with or supervising high school students earning community service hours.

Students may be working directly with animals, many which may be in training for reactive behavioral issues related to abuse, neglect, and trauma.
